Wilmington Police Department Opens Applications for Women's Self-Defense Class
The Wilmington Police Department (WPD) is now accepting applications for its upcoming Women's Self-Defense Class. This initiative offers women the opportunity to learn self-defense tactics from female officers of the WPD. The classes are scheduled for May 20, 21, 27, and 28, from 6 to 9 p.m., at the Hayes Lacewell Police and Fire Training Facility. Participation is free, but spaces are limited. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, able to attend all sessions, and pass a criminal background check.
