Masked Thieves Steal Restored 1965 Chevy Impala from La Puente Body Shop
A restored 1965 Chevrolet Impala, valued between $60,000 and $80,000, was stolen from R&E Collision Center in La Puente, California, on August 12. Surveillance video captured a group of masked thieves breaking a lock, opening the shop's gate, and using a two-wheel dolly to remove the classic car from the premises. According to shop owner Giovanni Robles, the Impala had been at the shop for approximately a year for repairs following a crash and had just received a fresh coat of paint three days prior to the theft. Robles, who has operated the business for 20-25 years, stated this was an unprecedented incident for his shop and believes the thieves may have surveilled the area beforehand. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department is seeking information regarding the theft.
