National Fraternal Order of Police Endorses Representative Figures' Public Service Educational Assistance Act
Representative Shomari Figures has announced that the National Fraternal Order of Police (FOP), the largest organization of sworn law enforcement officers in the U.S., has endorsed his bipartisan Public Service Educational Assistance Act. This proposed legislation aims to cover the full cost of postsecondary education and training, including trade schools and vocational programs, for the dependents of qualifying public servants. To be eligible, public servants such as educators, first responders, and social workers must have completed at least 20 years of service. The bill is co-sponsored by Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) and Representatives Jahana Hayes (CT-05) and Mike Ezell (MS-04).
