Lafayette Police Department Addresses Fentanyl Lab Discovery and Drug-Related Arrests in Indiana
Investigators in Lafayette, Indiana, discovered what they described as a 'fentanyl lab' inside a home on North 25th Street. This discovery followed a death investigation initiated in neighboring Benton County. During the search, authorities uncovered hardware used for mixing and manufacturing narcotics, alongside suspected fentanyl, crack cocaine, cocaine, methamphetamine, marijuana, and Xanax. The homeowner, Brett Eugene Manning, 59, was arrested and faces multiple charges, including dealing in methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of a narcotic drug. He is currently held at the Tippecanoe County Jail. The Lafayette Police Department, with assistance from the Lafayette Fire Department's hazmat team, executed a search warrant, evacuating nine individuals from the residence. Sergeant Matthew Santerre of the Lafayette Police Department emphasized the critical importance of removing these illegal substances from the community to prevent overdoses and deaths.
