Former Royal Butler Reveals Prince William and Harry's Staff-Free Summer Barbecues
Former royal butler Grant Harrold has shared insights into the summer traditions of Prince William and Prince Harry during their childhood. According to Harrold, the royal brothers, along with their cousins, would often host barbecues at Highgrove House, the country retreat of King Charles. These gatherings were unique as they were one of the few occasions where the royal staff did not serve the family, allowing the young royals to manage the cooking and festivities themselves. Harrold, who worked for King Charles, noted that these events were a time for the family to enjoy al fresco dining and swimming, following in the footsteps of Prince Philip, who was known for his grilling skills at Balmoral. The relaxed atmosphere extended to King Charles, who preferred to have breakfast and sometimes dinner outside during the warm months.
