Canada's Federal Student Aid Enhancements Continue Through 2027
Canada has announced the continuation of enhanced federal student aid measures starting August 1, 2026. Full-time students will be eligible to receive up to $4,200 for an eight-month study period, while part-time students can receive up to $2,520 annually. Students with disabilities are eligible for up to $2,800. The maximum federal student loan remains at $300 per week for full-time students. These measures will be in place until July 31, 2027, with eligibility determined by family income and size. Additionally, new restrictions will be applied to private for-profit college students, who will largely be ineligible for the Canada Student Grant for Full-Time Students, with some exceptions for specific programs.
