Vadodara Prepares for Local Self-Government Elections with Extensive Security Measures
The Vadodara district in India is set to conduct local self-government elections, with polling scheduled for Sunday. The district administration has completed final preparations, including the distribution of electronic voting machines (EVMs) and election materials across the district. The elections will cover the Vadodara district panchayat, seven taluka panchayats, four municipalities, and the Vadodara Municipal Corporation. Authorities have ensured that all logistical, administrative, and security arrangements are in place to facilitate free, fair, and peaceful polling. EVMs and polling materials were dispatched from 18 designated centers, with polling parties traveling to their respective booths in GPS-enabled vehicles under tight police security. A total of 2,406 polling stations have been set up for 21,95,738 registered voters, and 13,234 polling personnel along with 7,939 police personnel have been deployed to maintain order.
