USS Gerald R. Ford Concludes Croatia Visit, Prepares for Continued Global Operations
The USS Gerald R. Ford, the world's largest aircraft carrier, has departed from the Port of Split, Croatia, after a five-day visit from March 28 to April 2. During this time, Rear Adm. Paul Lanzilotta, commander of Carrier Strike Group 12, along with other commanders, met with U.S. Ambassador to Croatia Nicole McGraw to discuss the ongoing deployment and mission readiness of the strike group. The visit allowed the crew to enjoy leisure activities in Croatia and participate in tours organized by the ship's Morale, Welfare, and Recreation team. Additionally, the ship underwent scheduled repairs and restocked supplies necessary for its operations. The Gerald R. Ford Carrier Strike Group, which left Naval Station Norfolk on June 24, 2025, has been involved in operations across the Arctic Circle, Mediterranean, Caribbean, and Red Sea, showcasing its capabilities as a formidable military force.
