Levant Woman Charged After Falling Asleep in Homeowner's Bed in Bangor, Maine
Darcelle Howard, 55, of Levant, Maine, faces multiple charges after allegedly breaking into a Bangor home and falling asleep in the homeowner's bed. The incident occurred on a Thursday when the homeowner, who had forgotten to lock his door, returned home to find Howard asleep. Police were called shortly after 7 a.m. and arrested Howard. She has been charged with burglary to a dwelling, criminal mischief, theft by unauthorized taking, and violation of conditions of release. Howard was subsequently taken to the Penobscot County Jail. Later the same day, Bangor police received information from a property manager who recognized Howard's booking photo from an earlier incident on August 11, where a non-resident had entered a building, taken a resident's clothing, and left a mess.
