Orange County Sheriff's Office Arrests One Suspect in Multi-State Cemetery Theft Ring
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of Angela Garrett, 52, one of three suspects accused of stealing from cemeteries across the country. Garrett faces multiple charges, including injuring or removing a tomb or monument, disturbing the contents of a grave or tomb, and grand theft over $20,000. Detectives are still actively searching for the other two suspects, Drake Lee Milam, 33, and his girlfriend, Porsche Bancroft, 32. The trio is believed to have targeted cemeteries in at least nine states, breaking into niches and stealing jewelry and keepsakes, such as wedding rings, placed with cremated remains. In Florida alone, at least 20 such cases have been reported, though investigators suspect the actual number could be higher. The suspects are believed to reside in Indianapolis.
