AAU Basketball Coach and Players Arrested for Theft at Polk County 7-Eleven
Five teenagers and their coach, visiting Orlando for an AAU basketball tournament, were arrested following a theft at a 7-Eleven in Polk County. The group, part of the 'Run it Up' basketball program from Washington, D.C., allegedly stole items worth $37.60, including snacks and drinks. The Polk County Sheriff's Office reported that the teens hid the items in a backpack and left the store without paying. The coach, Malik Harvey, was arrested for lying to investigators to protect the identities of two team members. The incident occurred around 4:10 a.m. on Thursday, and the group was later found near their vacation rental at Solterra Resorts.
