Governor Stitt Appoints James Green as District Attorney for Pittsburg and Haskell Counties
Governor Stitt has appointed James Green as the District Attorney for District 18, which includes Pittsburg and Haskell Counties in Oklahoma. This appointment is effective immediately. Governor Stitt praised Green's leadership, judgment, and character, citing his eight years of experience as a prosecutor and his military service as qualifications for the role. Green, who served 20 years in the U.S. Marine Corps, including nine years as an enlisted Marine, earned his law degree from Cooley Law School in 2006. He later reenlisted as a commissioned officer and served as a Marine Corps judge advocate. After retiring from the military, Green practiced law in Virginia before opening a private practice in Stigler, Oklahoma, in 2020. Green expressed his commitment to serving the district and working with law enforcement to pursue justice with integrity.
