Cornell Cooperative Extension Appoints Judson Reid to Statewide Agriculture Leadership Role
Judson Reid, a seasoned educator with Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE), has been appointed as the assistant director for agriculture and food systems. Reid, who began his career as a county extension agent in Yates County, will now oversee 10 regional agriculture teams comprising over 100 Cornell specialists. These teams work with farmers and food producers across New York in various sectors, including dairy, livestock, and urban agriculture. Reid's career includes a master's degree in plant protection and extensive experience in vegetable production and agricultural programming. He also leads Harvest New York, focusing on local food supply chains and agricultural climate resiliency.
