Manitoba Premier Criticizes Deputy Minister for LinkedIn Post About U.S. Trip
Manitoba Premier Wab Kinew has publicly criticized Michael Jack, the deputy minister of business, mining, trade, and job creation, for posting on LinkedIn about a business trip to the U.S. The trip included a delegation to a conference in Philadelphia, which Jack attended alongside representatives from various organizations, including Sio Silica. The criticism arises as the NDP government plans to launch a public inquiry into the previous government's handling of a Sio Silica licence application. Kinew emphasized that while the trip itself was acceptable, the social media post was inappropriate given the upcoming inquiry.
