Phoenix Heat Wave Persists as High Country Braces for Storms
Phoenix continues to experience a streak of triple-digit temperatures, with highs reaching 107°F (42°C) on Wednesday, surpassing the average high of 101°F (38°C) for this time of year. Temperatures are expected to remain elevated through the week, with slight cooling by Friday. Meanwhile, eastern Arizona's High Country is seeing an increase in storm activity, with scattered showers and thunderstorms anticipated midweek. These storms may produce gusty outflow winds that could impact lower elevations. The region is also experiencing breezy conditions, with southwest winds reaching 10-15 mph and gusts up to 20 mph.
