Lekhgaun's Cultural and Natural Heritage Aims to Boost Tourism
Lekhgaun, a village in Annapurna Rural Municipality-4, is recognized for its unique blend of culture and nature. Known as the 'Magar Museum,' the village is home to approximately one hundred families of the Magar community. The settlement is characterized by traditional stone houses and a lifestyle that preserves ancient customs such as farming, herding, and traditional dances. The village is situated at an altitude of two thousand meters, offering picturesque views of the Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Nilgiri, Manapathi, and Barah Shikhara mountains. Efforts are underway to develop Lekhgaun as a study center for Magar culture and to attract tourists by promoting its cultural and natural beauty. Despite its potential, the village has not seen significant tourist activity due to a lack of publicity.
