Ayurveda Day 2026 to Emphasize Evidence-Based Research and Global Integration
Ayurveda, a traditional Indian healing system, is advancing with a focus on evidence-based research and innovation. The 11th Ayurveda Day, scheduled for September 23, 2026, will be celebrated under the theme "Ayurveda for a Healthy Future." This event aims to connect Ayurveda with modern research, quality standards, and international healthcare frameworks. For the first time since its inception in 2016, Ayurveda Day will be observed on a fixed date, September 23rd, annually, as notified by the Government of India in March 2025. This decision marks a significant shift from its previous observance on Dhanvantari Jayanti (Dhanteras), providing Ayurveda with a universal calendar identity and fostering greater global participation and credibility. The initiative seeks to raise awareness that Ayurveda is an evidence-based scientific medical system and to promote its integration into global healthcare.
