Cincinnati Faces Severe Flooding, Water Rescues Amid Heavy Rainfall
Cincinnati and its neighboring communities experienced severe flooding after receiving up to five inches of rainfall. The storm caused significant damage to homes and businesses, particularly in the neighborhoods of Hyde Park, Oakley, Madisonville, and California. The Cincinnati Fire Department responded to multiple water rescues, including a dramatic incident where two individuals were rescued from the roof of a car trapped in fast-moving water. The Metropolitan Sewer District reported over 900 cases of sewer backups and basement flooding. City officials are working on debris removal and investigating a potential malfunction of a flood gate on Duck Creek.
