Back-to-Back Storms Bring Rain, Snow to Western US
Multiple storms are set to impact the western United States from the weekend through Wednesday, bringing beneficial rain and heavy mountain snow. The first system spread showers across California and the Southwest from Saturday into Monday, with snow creating travel disruptions in the Sierra Nevada. A second storm will arrive Tuesday into Wednesday, focusing on the Northwest, including parts of Washington, Oregon and Idaho. While the moisture will help ease drought conditions, colder air and lowering snow levels could make mountain travel hazardous before drier weather returns later in the week.
