Gates Foundation Launches AI-Enabled Family Planning Initiative in Sub-Saharan Africa
The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has announced a new funding initiative aimed at advancing family planning in Sub-Saharan Africa through AI-enabled consumer engagement. The initiative, part of the Grand Challenges program, targets countries such as Nigeria, Ethiopia, and Tanzania, among others. Organizations with established consumer-health platforms are invited to apply for grants of up to $500,000 to deploy and evaluate AI tools that enhance contraceptive uptake and informed choice among women and girls. This initiative is open to nonprofits, companies, government agencies, and academic institutions operating in the target regions.
