Thailand's Economic Stimulus Program Circulates Over THB86 Billion in Two Months
Thailand's economic stimulus initiative, Thais Help Thais Plus, has successfully circulated over THB86 billion within the first two months of its implementation. The program, which operates on a 60/40 model, is designed to alleviate living costs and bolster purchasing power among Thai citizens. According to Deputy Government Spokesperson Lalida Persvivatana, the initiative has seen a significant portion of transactions, 96.6%, occurring at physical shops, with the remainder through food-delivery platforms. The program aims to support the grassroots economy by encouraging spending at local businesses, including restaurants, retail shops, street vendors, and market stalls. Additionally, the government has integrated artificial intelligence tools into the Tung Ngern app to assist small retailers in analyzing business data, further supporting the digital transition of small operators.
