California Launches $1 Billion Rebate Program for Electric Trucks Amid Global Market Shifts
Governor Gavin Newsom of California has announced a new $1 billion rebate program aimed at promoting the adoption of electric trucks. This initiative is part of California's broader strategy to maintain its leadership in zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) deployment, especially as federal policies under President Trump have shifted focus away from clean energy. The program builds on existing efforts like the Clean Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Project, which has already supported over 2,000 fleets and deployed 11,600 clean vehicles. California's commitment to clean transportation is further evidenced by its extensive network of over 200,000 public and shared EV charging stations.
