NJASAP Supports LIRR Workers in Wage Dispute, Highlighting Labor Solidarity
The NetJets Association of Shared Aircraft Pilots (NJASAP) has publicly expressed support for the striking Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) workers. NJASAP, representing over 3,700 professional pilots from NetJets Aviation, a Berkshire Hathaway company, is joining other labor groups in advocating for fair wages for the LIRR workforce. The strike involves 3,500 railroad workers represented by five unions, who ceased work after failing to reach a wage agreement with the Metropolitan Transportation Authority. The LIRR, the busiest commuter railroad in the U.S., serves approximately 300,000 commuters daily. NJASAP President Capt. Pedro Leroux emphasized the importance of recognizing the workers' contributions and the need for a compensation package that reflects the economic realities of the region.
