Gallup Poll Reveals Gen Z's Growing Anxiety and Anger Towards AI
A recent Gallup poll has highlighted a shift in Gen Z's perception of artificial intelligence (AI). Conducted in February and March, the survey involved nearly 1,600 individuals aged 14 to 29 across the United States. The findings indicate a decline in enthusiasm for AI among Gen Z, with only 18% expressing hopefulness and 22% excitement about the technology, down from 27% and 36% respectively from the previous year. Conversely, anger towards AI has increased, with 31% of respondents feeling angry, up from 22% last year. Despite these sentiments, AI usage among Gen Z remains prevalent, with over half using AI weekly, a slight increase from the previous year. The report suggests that while Gen Z acknowledges the utility of AI, concerns about its long-term impact on learning, trust, and career readiness are growing.
