Spike Lee and Terrell Owens Attend Funeral of Mississippi Teen Nolan Wells Amid Investigation
Nolan Wells, an 18-year-old college athlete from Mississippi, was laid to rest in a closed casket ceremony attended by notable figures such as director Spike Lee and former NFL star Terrell Owens. The funeral took place at Center Pointe Church in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, following Wells' mysterious death during a July 4 boating trip. His body was discovered two days later off Horn Island and identified through dental records. While police suspect drowning, Wells' family is conducting their own investigation due to inconsistencies in the accounts provided by his friends. Concerns have been raised about Wells leaving his phone behind and potential deletion of Snapchat content. Civil-rights lawyer Benjamin Crump is assisting the family, and Rev. Al Sharpton has offered a $50,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction, with actor Tyler Perry matching this offer.
