Scattered Thunderstorms Expected in Southeast Texas on Sunday
Southeast Texas is set to experience warm and humid conditions throughout the upcoming week, driven by persistent southeast winds bringing moisture into the region. Despite the increased humidity, rain chances will remain low due to high pressure over the central Gulf of Mexico. On Sunday, Houston will see a 40% chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms, particularly in the late afternoon and evening. Rainfall is expected to be light, with most areas receiving less than a quarter-inch of precipitation. The highest likelihood of thunderstorms will be north and west of Houston, in cities like Crockett, Huntsville, and College Station, where rain chances could rise to 60-70%. Some storms may be strong, with potential for hail and damaging wind gusts.
