Kamala Harris Leads Early Polls for 2028 Democratic Nomination
Former Vice President Kamala Harris is leading early polls for the 2028 Democratic presidential nomination, according to a recent Rasmussen Reports survey. Harris has garnered 37 percent support among likely Democratic primary voters, significantly ahead of California Governor Gavin Newsom at 14 percent and New York Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez at 9 percent. This marks an improvement from May, when Harris had 34 percent support. The poll highlights Harris's strong position among key Democratic constituencies, particularly Black voters and younger voters under 40. Despite her lead, no candidate has formally announced their intention to run for the 2028 election.
