West Michigan Initiative Empowers Single Moms with Workforce Training
A new program in West Michigan, spearheaded by Carla Ludwig, aims to empower single mothers by providing them with workforce training and support. The initiative, part of the Hope for Single Moms organization, offers single mothers the opportunity to gain new skills and secure living-wage jobs. The program includes financial assistance, mentorship, and job training, helping participants balance parenting and career development. The Hope Workforce Institute, a new component of the program, focuses on certifying participants in cleaning services, connecting them with jobs that pay $20 per hour or more. The initiative addresses the challenges faced by single mothers, many of whom live in poverty, by providing them with the tools and support needed to achieve financial independence.
