Heavy Rain and Flood Threat in Nebraska This Week
A major weather system fueled by tropical moisture from Hurricane Polo is set to bring widespread rain and thunderstorms to Nebraska from Tuesday, September 29, through Thursday, October 1. Rainfall totals are expected to range between 2 to 4 inches, with localized higher amounts possible. The National Weather Service has issued a Slight Risk for Excessive Rainfall for Tuesday and Wednesday. Monday will remain mostly dry, though areas of fog and drizzle are expected in the morning, with a Dense Fog Advisory in effect for south-central Nebraska until 11 AM CDT. Cooler temperatures in the 60s to low 70s are forecast during the rain event.
