U.S. Representative Valerie Foushee Highlights North Carolina's Role in National Innovation with RTI International Expansion
U.S. Representative Valerie Foushee, representing North Carolina's 4th Congressional District, attended the grand opening of RTI International's expanded Pilot Xcelerator facility in Research Triangle Park. The $14 million, 25,000-square-foot expansion more than doubles the lab space available for testing cleaner fuels, energy technologies, and advanced materials. Foushee emphasized that this expansion will position North Carolina at the forefront of national innovation projects by transforming ideas from students, researchers, and academics into deployment-ready solutions. The facility, described as the only privately-owned industrial pilot laboratory in North Carolina, aims to serve as a hub for commercializing technology developed by external partners.
