Ford Recalls Over 179,000 Bronco and Ranger Vehicles Due to Seat Defect
Ford Motor Company is recalling more than 179,000 vehicles, including 62,255 Ford Bronco SUVs and 117,443 Ford Ranger pickup trucks, due to a defect in the front seat frame. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reports that a pivot bolt in the front seats can become loose or dislodged, potentially compromising passenger restraint and increasing the risk of injury in a crash. Although no injuries have been reported, the recall is a precautionary measure to address the safety concern. Ford dealers are instructed to inspect and replace the pivot links and bolts as necessary, free of charge. Vehicle owners will receive notification letters by May 11, with a follow-up letter regarding a permanent remedy expected in July 2026.
