Varanasi Hosts BRICS Culture Working Group Meeting, Showcases Uttar Pradesh's Heritage
Varanasi, known as the cultural capital of India, recently hosted the Second BRICS Culture Working Group Meeting under India's BRICS Presidency. The event took place from June 4-5, 2026, and welcomed delegates from BRICS nations, including India, Brazil, China, South Africa, and others. The meeting served as a platform for cultural cooperation, allowing international participants to experience Uttar Pradesh's rich heritage and spiritual traditions. Discussions focused on the creative economy, cultural heritage protection, and culture-led sustainable development. Delegates also visited significant cultural sites such as the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple and Sarnath, enhancing their understanding of India's civilizational heritage.
