Expo Turismo Lima Metropolitana 2026 to Host World Tourism Day Events in Historic Center
The Historic Centre of Lima will host Expo Turismo Lima Metropolitana 2026 on September 27, 2026, as part of World Tourism Day. Organized by the Municipality of Lima, the event will feature four themed areas: Sabores de Lima for local food, Viaja por Lima for destination information, Arte y Tradición de Lima for crafts and textiles, and Tradición en Cada Copa for traditional drinks. The program also includes an immersive installation, various tourism activities, tastings, and artistic presentations. Additionally, the municipality will offer three free guided walks through the historic center, covering topics such as Lima's memory, literature, heritage, viceregal architecture, history, and culture. A World Tourism Day parade will commence at Parque de la Muralla and proceed through the historic center, concluding at Plaza San Martín. The event will utilize the Plaza Mayor as its primary setting, integrating civic, religious, and architectural landmarks into the visitor experience.
