Colorado Ceasefire Outreach Appoints Sofiya Erman as New Program Coordinator
Colorado Ceasefire Outreach has announced the appointment of Sofiya Erman as its new Program Coordinator. Erman, who joined the organization last month, has already begun working with youth interns and delivering school workshops focused on gun safety and gun violence prevention. Her background includes 15 years in education, where she started as a high school science teacher and later became an Assistant Principal of Culture. Erman emphasizes a relationship-first approach, believing that change occurs through person-to-person interaction rather than solely through programs. She aims to break down barriers that prevent individuals and communities from accessing education and having their voices heard. Born in Russia, Erman emigrated to the U.S. in 1992 and is a mother of a 6-year-old daughter.
