U.S. General Emphasizes Industry Surge and Burden Sharing for Indo-Pacific Peace
U.S. Army Gen. Xavier Brunson highlighted the importance of a joint military-industrial approach to deter adversaries in the Indo-Pacific region. Speaking at the 2026 Land Forces Pacific Symposium, Brunson emphasized the need for military strength, industrial sustainability, and allied collaboration. He noted that regional allies like South Korea are increasing their defense spending and industrial capabilities. The Trump administration has pushed for allies to take on more responsibility for regional defense spending, leading to increased military expenditures across Asia.
