Diocese of Las Cruces Lawsuit Dismissed Amid Ongoing Records Probe
The Diocese of Las Cruces has dismissed a lawsuit against a former employee accused of accessing financial records. The lawsuit, initially filed in September 2025, alleged that Georgina Lavery accessed these records shortly before resigning. Although the lawsuit was dismissed, the Diocese continues to investigate the involvement of Fr. Christopher Williams, who remains suspended. The case is linked to internal divisions within the Diocese concerning the Neocatechumenal Way movement, a recognized program within the Roman Catholic Church.
