A family in New York City was shocked to find a stranger in the coffin meant for their deceased father at R.G. Ortiz Funeral Home. Jose Daniel Diaz Felipe's family discovered the mix-up during his wake, where they expected to say their final goodbyes. The funeral home reportedly confused Diaz with another individual of a similar name. This incident is not isolated, as the funeral home has a history of complaints regarding the handling of remains and service pricing. Previously, the NYC Department of Consumer and Worker Protection sued the funeral home, resulting in a settlement that included financial penalties.
