Shenzhen Natural History Museum Opens, Showcasing Extant Biodiversity
The Shenzhen Natural History Museum has officially opened in the Pingshan District, marking a significant addition to the region's cultural and scientific landscape. Designed by Danish architectural firm 3XN, along with B+H Architects and Zhubo Design, the museum spans over 105,000 square meters and is situated adjacent to Yanzi Lake. It is one of the largest natural history museums globally and the first of its kind in southern China. The museum features exhibits that highlight the extant biodiversity of Guangdong Province and the Pearl River Delta, focusing on species adaptation over millions of years and current conservation efforts. The museum also serves as a research center and educational space, equipped with laboratories and scientific collections.
