Nebraska LEAD Program Opens Applications for 45th Cohort to Foster Agricultural Leadership
The Nebraska LEAD (Leadership Education/Action Development) Program is now accepting applications for its 45th cohort, with a deadline of June 15, 2026. This program, which has been running for over four decades, aims to develop leaders within Nebraska's agricultural sector. Participants, known as Nebraska LEAD Fellows, engage in a two-year immersive experience that includes seminars, in-state and national study travel, and an international study seminar. The program is designed to enhance leadership skills, broaden perspectives, and prepare participants to tackle complex challenges in agriculture and rural communities. Kurtis Harms, the program director, emphasizes the need for strategic, effective leaders in the agricultural industry. The program seeks individuals involved in production agriculture, agribusiness, or related fields who have demonstrated leadership potential and a commitment to community service.
