Revolutionary War Soldiers' Remains to Receive Proper Burial in New York
The remains of 44 Revolutionary War soldiers, discovered during a construction project in Lake George, New York, are set to be reburied in a military graveyard. These remains were unearthed seven years ago and have since been studied by researchers at the New York State Museum. The burial will take place at Lake George's Battlefield Park as part of a $700,000 memorial project. The remains were identified through extensive forensic work, including the reconstruction of dental arcades. A forensic artist also reconstructed the face of a teenage soldier, providing a personal glimpse into the lives of those who fought for U.S. independence.
