Judy Woodruff Transitions to Senior Correspondent Role at PBS NewsHour, Launches 'America at a Crossroads' Project
Judy Woodruff, a veteran journalist, has transitioned from her role as anchor and managing editor of the PBS NewsHour in December 2022 to become a senior correspondent. In this new capacity, she is spearheading the 'America at a Crossroads with Judy Woodruff' project. This initiative aims to delve into the social and political divisions prevalent in contemporary American society. Woodruff travels across the country, engaging with ordinary Americans to understand the underlying causes and impacts of these societal fault lines. The project seeks to shed light on how communities are grappling with historical issues, such as the Tulsa Race Massacre, and current challenges, including political polarization. Her work involves extensive reporting from various regions, focusing on both the divisions and efforts to bridge them, particularly in the context of the nation's upcoming 250th birthday.
