European Airports Suspend Ees System to Alleviate Passenger Delays
Major European airports have temporarily suspended the Entry/Exit System (Ees) to manage long queues and delays caused by the influx of travelers. The Ees, designed to streamline border control by recording biometric data, has been criticized for slowing down passenger flow, especially during peak travel periods like summer. Airports such as those in Paris, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Brussels, and Milan have opted to deactivate the system to ensure smoother transit. This decision aligns with EU regulations allowing suspension under 'exceptional' circumstances until September 6, 2026.
