Meteor and Volcanic Eruption Video Sparks Alien Speculation, Scientists Offer Explanation
A viral video capturing a meteor streaking past the erupting Mount Mayon in the Philippines has led to widespread speculation about extraterrestrial activity. The video, posted by Afar.TV, shows a vivid green fireball impacting behind the volcano, followed by a rising light. This phenomenon sparked theories of alien involvement. However, scientists, including Harvard astrophysicist Avi Loeb, have provided logical explanations, suggesting the rising light was likely a satellite reflecting sunlight. Physicist Peter Brown noted that the meteor likely did not produce a meteorite, as it probably burned up in the atmosphere. Despite the alien theories being dismissed, the simultaneous occurrence of a meteor and volcanic eruption remains a rare and striking event.
