Archaeologists Uncover Massive Athena Statue in Turkey, Highlighting Ancient Greek Influence
A significant archaeological discovery has been made in the ancient city of Laodicea, located in western Turkey. Archaeologists have unearthed a finely crafted statue of Athena, the Greek goddess of wisdom and war, within the stage building of the ancient theater. The statue, carved from white marble and measuring approximately two meters in length, reflects a high level of craftsmanship. This discovery, led by Turkey's Ministry of Culture and Tourism, is part of a broader initiative to document and preserve Turkey's extensive historical heritage. The presence of Athena in Laodicea offers fresh insights into the city's historical identity and its connection to classical mythology.
