Despite the federal government moving medical marijuana from Schedule I to Schedule III in April, states like South Dakota are left with more questions than answers about the broader implications. Schedule I drugs are considered to have no accepted medical use and a high potential for abuse, while Schedule III drugs are recognized for accepted medical uses and a lower potential for abuse.
