Museum of Science to Open New Bloomberg Wing in October
The Museum of Science in Boston is set to unveil its new William and Charlotte Bloomberg Public Science Common on October 10, 2026. This state-of-the-art, 10,000-square-foot performance and presentation space will serve as a central hub for public engagement with science and human ingenuity. The wing, named in honor of Mike Bloomberg's parents, was made possible by a $155 million donation from Bloomberg Philanthropies. The space is designed to be immersive and multi-use, featuring movable walls, LED video screens, retractable seating, and advanced sound and lighting, including 3D projection mapping technology called Deep Space. The museum's president, Tim Ritchie, emphasized the goal of fostering a love and trust for science among the public.
