HealthPartners and Essentia Health Announce Combination to Expand Healthcare Access in Upper Midwest
HealthPartners and Essentia Health, two Minnesota-based nonprofit health systems, have announced that their boards of directors have approved an affiliation agreement to combine their organizations. This merger aims to expand access to high-quality care and coverage, strengthen specialty services, leverage technology to better serve patients and support clinicians, and work towards making healthcare more affordable. The combined entity will operate under the HealthPartners name, with current HealthPartners President and CEO Andrea Walsh leading the new organization. Essentia Health CEO David Herman, MD, will serve as president of combined clinical care group operations, while Essentia facilities will retain their name during the integration process.
