Freeze Warnings Extend from Iowa to East Coast Amid Dry Conditions
Freeze warnings are currently in effect across a significant portion of the Midwest, stretching from north-central Iowa to the Atlantic Ocean. According to the National Weather Service, temperatures in central and eastern Iowa dropped to as low as 26°F (-3°C) overnight, while northern Indiana and southern Michigan experienced temperatures in the mid-20s Fahrenheit. Additionally, red flag warnings have been issued in several states, including Minnesota, Wyoming, South Dakota, Nebraska, southeastern Colorado, and southwestern Kansas, indicating extremely dry weather conditions. Winds in central Wisconsin are expected to be sustained at 10 to 20 mph, with gusts reaching up to 30 mph, and relative humidity levels are predicted to fall to around 20%.
