FBI Affidavit Details Search of Fulton County Elections Office Over 2020 Election Concerns
A newly unsealed affidavit from the FBI has revealed the legal basis for a search conducted at a Fulton County elections office in Georgia. The search, executed on January 29, was part of an ongoing investigation into alleged improprieties during the 2020 election. The affidavit, written by an FBI agent, outlines several deficiencies in the election process, including issues with scanned ballot images and inconsistencies in vote tallies. Despite these claims, Georgia state officials, including the Republican governor and secretary of state, have consistently defended the integrity of the election, noting that multiple recounts confirmed Joe Biden's victory over President Trump. The search warrant, signed by a federal magistrate judge, allowed the FBI to seize ballots and other election-related materials. The investigation was initiated following a referral from an attorney involved in efforts to overturn the election results.
