Columbia County Implements Ticket Requirement for Fourth of July Event to Enhance Security
Columbia County, Georgia, has announced that tickets will be required for its 2026 Fourth of July celebration, known as BOOM! in the Park, to manage crowd size and improve security. The decision follows incidents at previous events, including the Thunder Over Evans and the Columbia County Spring Fair, where security concerns arose due to large, unsupervised groups. Residents can obtain up to eight tickets per household, and an adult aged 21 or older must accompany groups of up to four minors. Tickets will be available at various locations, including the Evans Market and the Columbia County Government Complex. The county plans to release information on ticket distribution for non-residents in June.
